I'm pleased to announce that we will have a powerful social networking module integrated seemlessly into our forums very shortly! The new module will allow greater ease interacting with other professionals, as well as allowing you a personal journal (sometimes called a "wall"), and easier access to your profile and other goodies!
I have put the flash header on hold for awhile, instead focussing on the articles and other areas of the site.
It's so quiet, during this launching phase of the site...I must admit it would be great to hear from you! It's like the old saying, an "overnight success." Well, sometimes it takes a long time to become an overnight success!
Please tell your friends and colleagues about the site, so we can carve out a little niche in cyberspace devoted to computer and soft-skills training issues! And if you are willing to add the site to social networking sites, or have other ideas how to get the word out, I'd love to hear! CNET magazing wanted $5000.00 per month, minimum 3 months, just for a little banner ad! Um, if I had that kind of cash floating around, I don't think I'd need to advertise!
On a little bit of a downer side, someone has started rating articles with 1's - on purpose, it seems, as there are several ones rated. I certainly want to promote freedom of opinion, but I feel for the amount of time, research, and experience I bring to the articles that clearly there is some sort of unkind motivation going on. If this continues, I will need to set it up so that ratings are only allowed to registered users. I would prefer the openness of anonymous ratings, however.
I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the site; my thanks to those who have taken the time to offer a comment or a fair rating. Let me know what other kinds of articles you would like to be seeing, and how I can improve the site. And if the person who was rating articles with 1's would like to leave comments or contact me directly and discuss their concerns, I'm happy to listen.
Thanks and I hope the week is going well.
