Lately I've been learning all I can about marketing. One of the key principles you discover is that marketing is all about "testing" your ads and your offers to find out which ones are effective, modifying the ones that are not. Call it Darwin's Marketing Principle if you will.
So what I've discovered is that you can, indeed, still use this principle to find out which ads are working, and which ads are not! Even in a down economy. It's been said the greatest fortunes are made during depressions (oops I mean recessions).
I'll tell you all a little secret: Facebook is AWESOME for advertising! What I really like about FB is the fact that you can create ads, track them, and only pay for the ones that work! You can target your ads to exactly who you want to reach, and again, you are only paying for ads that people click. Pretty great deal, hunh?
Of course, there's always Google and Yahoo etc, and they have similar tools. I just like the FB interface. I figure once I master ads on FB I can branch out.
Marketing tip: everyone is pulling back in everything in this recession. That includes advertising! So, now's your chance to stand out above the rest, with fewer advertisers in the marketplace!
Talk at you again soon,
Mike
