What is a post about "life" doing in a management and technology training website?
Well, maybe more than you think. What are computers s'posed to do for us? Automate everything to make life faster and easier, right?
But what are we rushing towards?
I am going to share a sad story with you that occurred for me today. If you are squeamish, please do not continue reading. I will give some blank space so you won't accidentally see it if you want to click off this post.

OK, now that those who are willing to handle it are still here, here's what happened.
I was driving over a hill, and to my chagrin I saw a squirrel in the middle of the road, ahead of the truck in front of me, in my lane.
I was mortified, wondering and hoping desperately that the truck would see the animal and miss it.
It didn't.
The poor thing got run over and flipped in the air, landing in the road, mangled, in front of my car as I passed over it, although to my knowledge I did not hit it. I straddled it.
I cried. I love animals. The thought that this beautiful creature, proud and majestic with it's magnificent tail had only moments before graced my life and our planet, and the next moment was gone as a thoughtless (or helpless?) motorist ended it's life just killed me. It hit me hard, really hard.
It sets me to thinking, as important as accomplishment and achievement are, which is what I and my company help you to do, isn't there something more to life than money and the relentless march of technology and "civilization"?
I put it to you. Hold your loved ones tonight. Look deeply into their eyes; feel them; feel your feelings as you cherish them. Life is short, and we and our animal friends are what are really important.
Oh, and if you email me "DeadSquirrel" I'll give you 20% off your next training.
OMG, NOT! Just seeing if you are paying attention. Note the contrast in your feelings when you read that. You and your inner heart know what is most important. So live it.
