Hey all, I just ran across a stat that said that the amount of new technical information is doubling every 2 years! That means for students starting a new 4-year technical degree, half of what they have learned is outdated by their 3rd year of study! The amount of unique information generated in 2008 is estimated to have been 4 exabytes--that's 4x10^19. This is more new information on the earth than in the previous 5,000 years! It is also estimated that by 2013, a $1000 computer will be build that will exceed the computational capabilities of the human brain. So, keep studying!I got these stats from a terrific presentation at Technology and Education Video.
